Early scan

Hello!
Just wondered as it's been a while since I last had to do this... Am having an early scan tomorrow (I'll be 5 weeks 6 days), I know it will be a vaginal scan but I can't remember if you have to drink loads for that? A totally thick question probably, I thought you only had to drink a lot with a regular scan?

I didnt want to read and run! I wouldnt have thought so with a vaginal scan! All the best today x

That's what I thought, but I didn't want to arrive there with an empty bladder if it were supposed to be full lol what do you think the chances are of seeing the heartbeat this early on?

I just googled it hun and according to the first tri ladies of another forum I shall not name, the bladder gets in the way of a vaginal scan if full. Good luck xx

I have been told to have an empty bladder for vaginal scans and having my second tomorrow x

I was starting to wonder that myself... I seem to be a little frazzled this morning! And to Tasha, how many weeks were you with your first scan? Did you see much? Sorry for all the questions, I've never been scanned this early before! x

At my first scan this time at 6+3 i saw a 4mm baby with a heartbeat... So dont be shocked if they only see a sac with a yolk sac... You might see a baby though!! I hope so

Hi everyone!
I am SOOOO happy!!! We went for the scan this morning and at 5 weeks 6 days we saw him/her on the screen with a good healthy little heart beating away, it was amazing! They said everything was normal, they couldn't date me properly because it's too early right now but they think I'm 5 and a half weeks roughly so about right almost. He/she measures just 3mm! But healthy, I can't tell you how happy we are, I almost cried with relief seeing that heartbeat
