how do you entertain babies?

Connies all awake today and I'm trying to make myself some breakfast/lunch I've put her in her bouncy chair to watch me but shes just crying, I tried the play mat aswell and that also caused tears.
Shes not hungry and will stop crying once I pick her up shes just looking for attention but obviously I can't give it to her

how do you entertain babies that can't even play yet?
this is irratating, I was holding her all day yesterday cos of it!


bright side though she slept through til like 6am

We've only just got to the "slightly entertaining himself" stage. Before that he was constantly in my arms. I must admit i did put him infront of the tv in his swing on quite a few occasions

i thought about sling but im clumsy and didnt want to sling ehr while hadnling boiling water cos if i fell over or spilt jsut abit of water on her i'd never forgive myself

Luca's currently going through this. Though he's teething and got separation anxiety. Its really hard when you can't leave them to go to the toilet / make something to eat / drink..

shes 6 weeks old today, I cant wait til she gets to the age were putting something infront of her will entertain her for a good hour or so lol

lol, my 2 year old will happily sit in front of the TV / play with his toys on his own if I let him now, he's been like that since about 10 months old.

have you got a baby swing?
this would get both my babies to sleep without minutes, or they would just be happy to rock there for 10 minutes whilst I did what they needed to do?

haha yeah Eves happy just playing on her own, I ahve a sling but didn't want to use it around boiling water, she fell asleep mid cry though so I have both hands right now WOOO

When she gets a bit older you can pop ehr on your back in a wrap/carrier. You could do it at 6w but I've not dared yet

I used to just pop mine in a bouncy seat or rocker then let them stare at shapes and colours around the room or maybe play some music whilst you potter abouit nearby.
