i had the email- - on hubby's laptop though so will have to clear history when I'm done! lol!

Hehe, when it went down the other day I had to. Then I remembered I had visited here once before after visiting the main one (before I was registered) and it loaded but said to come here lol

where hubby used to work if a server/ someone's site went down they had to have it up in 18 mins but it's been longer than that now so i guess however long it takes to figure out what's wrong and get it sorted....will depend on them i guess

Yeah same at our place, i'm System Admin for the company and if things go tits up I always try to get it fixed within at least half hour so there isn't too much disruption to the company.

Being a host they must have to do it faster as people are paying them for the service unlike in an office.

yeah. that's what hubby did. they had v little time to sort the customers' accounts/servers etc.

he has his own servers there even though he moved on as they're so to customers (even if they're so crappy to their staff!)

he's lookign for a new job again though as not been paid since april!

:/ sounds like a great company if he's not been paid for that long!

Good that they treat the customers as more important though, thats where the money comes from after all.

he is sys ad now somewhere else and has just been paid april's pay. think i heard 10 mill in debt!
he's looking for a new job.

I'm at a little family owned publishers and the family that runs it tries to treat us all as part of the family which is nice.

The company lost money in the credit crunch but they explained all the ups and downs on payday as it would normally be the payrise month but obviously no payrises for now. They managed to give us all a small bonus at least though which was nice as they could have just done nothing.

Hopefully things will start to improve soon though as they reckon all sorts of sales etc are on the rise again.

yeah they have a big debt. amazed they have any employees left (1 rounds of redundancies so far though!) just hope something else come sup or they manage to get back on track!

Yeah doesn't sound good with that much debt...they'll probably have quite a few redundancies to help recover some of it.

they're already down to less than 1/2 numbers! and might just close his whole office! he's safe as long as his office is open though cause he's the only sys admin there. just hope so much he gets something else soon.

My hubby's office will be closing sometime over next 3-6 months too. Whole company having to close down as they lost their biggest contracts (magazine wholesaler) so can only run up until a certain point so were on job hunt for him too.

Not that we are letting it stop us ttc, i've got very supportive parents luckily who will help out if needed until we can get him secured somewhere, plus unemployment policy (THANK GOD! lol)
