Had a good midwife visit.
It wasn't my midwife, but her co-worker and she was lovely.
She has said that based on the following, there is no reason why I can't have my baby at the birth centre instead of the hospital.
If you saw my Rant Alert post on the other forum, you'll know what I'm on about.
Anyhoo the conditions are:
No diabetes from GTT at 28 weeks
A normal sized baby based on 2 growth scan results
GBS negative (as I was positive with one pregnancy and had to have anti biotics)
No induction necessary.
She has said that if my baby is big, the consultant should agree to induction at edd, rather than making me go overdue, because my history is that I end up being induced, and there is no reason to even assume I'll go naturally this time. They wont agree to induction with a normal sized baby but they should do if the baby is big, if that makes any sense.
He should make a provisional agreement, tbc after all my results are in at 34 weeks.
The reason they wont let me go at the birth centre if the baby is big is because there is a risk of him getting stuck, even though Caleb didn't, and a prolonged painful labour, which I had with Caleb.
ON the downside, my rubella immunity is low again and I have to have the post natal jab but otherwise, all is ok and I'm a happy bunny.

Re: Had a good midwife visit.
I'm resigned to the fact that I'm going to end up being induced anyway, but I'm happy that I was given the choice.
Assuming I meet the conditions, IF and its a very big IF, I go into labour on my own, at least I have a choice.

Re: Had a good midwife visit.
Thanks ladies.
Caleb was my hubby's choice of name, every baby we had would have been called caleb, but they were all girls. Then we had my son.
Now were completely stumped for a boys name!
