Need parenting advice LOL

It's about Josh.

He's only 5 but just lately he's been getting really emotional over things.

He was watching Lazytown the other day and someone was leaving and they had the sad music on in the background and he started crying. He said 'Mam, I'm trying not to cry but I can't help it.'

Tonight he's been watching Stuart Little and he started crying at the part when the mouse got lost

Honestly, I know it sounds daft, but I'm not sure he should even be getting upset over things like this, especially at his age

yeah its very normal.. this is the age when they start taking others feeling into consideration.. before the age of 5 children are selfish.. it is inbuilt.. nature so to speak.. to ensure they survive they need to make sure the mothers attention is on them fully. at 5 they can start to fend for themself so to speak, yes they are still selfish but not as much as when they were 2. dont inhibit his emotional outbursts.. this is shaping him for the future.. encorrage him to talk to you and dont tell him stop crying you silly thing.. i think this has a lot to do with men not being able to show their thoughts.
